Milk thickened with a butter and flour roux*
[syn: white sauce]

*Shit.  Apparently this is a 2-parter 'cause I don't know that word either...


ROUX
noun
A cooked mixture of butter or otherfat and flour used to thicken sauces, soups,etc.
